Electrical & Electronic Design Engineer (Senior/Principle) Excellent Salary and Progression. Overtime paid above 39 hours a week at time 1/3 and time 1/2. 39 Hours a week, flexible working hours Blandford Forum, Dorset Electrical & Electronic Design Engineer position available in a very successful family run manufacturer. This is new role due to increase in business and succession planning. The role will appeal to those seeking a very employee focused company in a role offering advancement. You'll be encouraged to work with senior managers to bring ideas and influence future investment. The role combines both design and leadership of a small team of 5 employees. This is a senior appointment in the design team. You'll work closely with the Technical Director who is due to retire shortly. The role is predominately design of electrical / electronic elements and sub-assemblies of test systems and seeing into manufacture. You'll work closely with all departments to bring the project together. You need to demonstrate familiarity with analogue and digital interface circuits along with electrical schematics and wiring. The key is to show electrical/electronic design of a machine or product. Training on the company's products will be part of the induction. The company employee 70 people and are continuing to show impressive growth signs. They have an impressive facility which is modern and well organised. The company produce high value bespoke machines used in aerospace, oil & gas, defence to name a few. The role will suit a electrical/electronic design engineer who wants to add value and be part of the overall process from concept to completion. The company truly value their staff. Overtime is also paid above 39 hours at a premium level. The role: Generate electrical / electronic design specifications for team members. Work closely with project managers within project timescales and costs. Communicate with customers and project engineers to clarify requirements / meet specifications. Generate parts lists, wiring schedules & source components Initial meetings with customers to gather requirements. Provide technical guidance and review to other team members. Work closely with manufacturing department to inform and answer queries during assembly / test stages. Attend factory and/or site acceptance testing with customer. The person needed: Formal engineering qualification in electronic / electrical design. Extensive industry related experience in electrical engineering at design / implementation level. Experience of designing analogue and digital interface circuits. Able to produce wiring schedules & schematics that support efficient manufacture Able to lead a project through development to manufacturing. Ability to work on a variety of projects.
