Sussex Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a Designer/Production Manager for a bespoke garment manufacturer based in East Sussex. The ideal candidate will have relevant garment design experience, excellent knowledge of coral draw and experience of working with European and Far Eastern suppliers. This is a split role with about 60% focused on design and 40% on production. Design Creating orders sheets from the initial design stage through to job sheets Use design templates working to the customers’ requirements- adding logos, changing colours and trims Refining all order requirements into a ‘Job Sheet’ to send to the factory Liaising with factories, answering any queries throughout the production process to ensure deadlines are met Redrawing of Logos and creation of DST files Working to critical paths set out for major client and projects Checking and approving lab dips, print strike offs, embroidery strike offs, bulk fabrics, trims and samples Ensuring the consistency of brand application and development on all clothing range in the company portfolio Production / Factory Development Keep current on market trends, ensure that garments are in line with high street trends Be aware of the competition and ensure the company is leading the way in innovative product design and development Ability to create clear sketches that clearly show design intent and product development Responsible creating product specifications and factory tech packs Responsible for development of grading, sizing and patterns Oversee and ensure all new garments are fit for purpose Responsible for sourcing and set up of new factories Quality Control Ensure suppliers are performing QC to an approved standard Ensuring certification on fabric performance and tests Responsible for UK QC check and highlight in advance any quality issues.
