A number of temporary opportunities are available, working within HMP Send as part of the Stores Team Your new company The National Offender Management Services are there to ensure people serve the sentences and orders handed out by courts, both in prisons and in the community. Within England and Wales, NOMS is responsible for the running of prison and probation services, are dedicated to the rehabilitation services for prisoners leaving prison, making sure support is available to stop people offending again and contract managing private sector prisons and services such as the Prisoner Escort Service and electronic tagging. Your new role A number of exciting temporary (potentially long-term or permanent) opportunities are available, working within Stores Services in the prison sector. Working as part of the Stores Team you will be involved in receiving, receipting, stowing and issuing stores items to customers within the prison. Main duties: Request, process and receive goods using Prison finance system when required. Monitor, log and x-ray all deliveries to the establishment and deliver to relevant areas. Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery dates of orders and ensure the return of items that are not required or incorrectly ordered. Prepare and process requisitions, receipt goods in and ensure stock levels are maintained through inventory systems and carry out regular stock checks. Receive and distribute uniform/carry out clothing exchange duties and transport laundry where applicable Supervise prisoner workforce in relevant areas, if required. Undertake activities in such a way to ensure that waste is reduced and that areas of work are safe, clean and tidy whilst work is in progress. If required undertake general fork lift truck and Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) duties.
