THE COMPANY: Calibrate Engineering Recruitment are currently working with a South Yorkshire based business, a market leader in the heat treatment and forging industry as they look to recruit a Combustion System Field Service/Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in the steel industry. THE JOB: The purpose of your role will be to perform complex customer support activities involving the on-site installation, service, repair, test, troubleshooting, and training new and existing combustion and process control systems at customer sites in a timely and cost effective manner. You will instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the systems, serve as company expert with customers on technical matters and always conduct business in a professional manner building customer relationships Reporting to the Managing Director, your specific duties will include: Conduct on-site commissioning of complex products and follow testing procedures to ensure proper working order. Installation of equipment and supervision of tradesmen will be required from time to time. Perform process support as required. Check out and approve operational quality of installed systems. Investigate malfunctions and take corrective action. Answer technical questions on equipment and work with customers to troubleshoot problems. Provide support via telephone and on-site dealing with how systems will work with customer processes. Work with Engineering, Reliability and Manufacturing groups for corrective action and resolution. Make recommended design changes. Represent company in dealings with customers, responsible for customer satisfaction. May oversee all service activities for a specific customer. Prepare event or daily logs and report of work performed. Preparation of method statements and risk assessments to create and maintain a safe working environment on site. Some travel required out of South Yorkshire and some international operations will be encountered. THE PERSON: The company are looking for someone with the following experience/training: Higher level education in Electrical/Mechanical technical duties. 5 years hands-on practical experience. ( such as Maintenance Department ) Preferably 'Gas-Safe' trained. Demonstrated competency and high level of understanding and ability to practically understand issues and see resolutions. Demonstrated competency in fault finding and system trouble shooting. Strong customer relations and organisational skills required Excellent customer relations, listening, and organisational skills Ability to work cooperatively with others within and across functions and at all levels of the company and customer organisations. Individuals demonstrating this competency show a commitment to quality during the completion of every task.
