THE ROLE We are seeking a Business Analyst (Cloud) to join Freshfields at our new Global Centre (Europe) in Manchester. This purpose of this role will be to analyse the requirements of the firm and individuals and ensure that the correct solutions are chosen and implemented. It is also responsible for providing detailed analysis of business and customer problems and requirements. ABOUT IT The IT Department is responsible for providing technology and support to enable fee earners and business services employees to operate efficiently both internally and with their clients. The IT department is comprised of two functions, Customer Services and Technology Services. These two functions work closely together with the shared goal of delivering strategic business value through the application of technology. IT operates as a global team with regional presence in most of our offices. Our centralised IT infrastructure is maintained and managed by Technology Services and Customer Services provides all business facing support and services. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES Applies tools and methods to identify the user experience, characteristics and tasks, and the technical, organisational and physical environment in which the product or system will operate; Deeply analyses customer requirements providing clear, concise and objective analysis; Analyses business processes; identifies alternative solutions, assesses feasibility and recommends new approaches; Gathers information from the customer to understand their needs and detailed requirements. Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders, using feedback to assess and promote understanding of need for future changes in services, products and systems. Captures and disseminates technical and business information; Ensures that there is a business perspective on how new technical capabilities will be delivered to the business, including planning around key business cycles, selecting appropriate customers for pilot, etc.; Supports Enterprise Architecture activities, such as capability planning and modelling; data and information gathering and management; Grows relationships with key stakeholders across IT and the firm; Liaises between technical and non-technical stakeholders. KEY REQUIREMENTS Essential Experience working in a Business Analyst role; Experience working in a professional service or customer centric environment; Strong elicitation techniques, targeted to the audience and environment; UML (including use cases, activity diagrams and state diagrams) or other formal notation; Stakeholder analysis; GAP analysis and modelling; Process re-engineering; Requirements management and traceability.
