Demand Planner (Supply Planner / Merchandiser / Allocator) Milton Keynes £25-29k Benefits Our client is looking for someone who has at least 1-2yrs experience within a supply chain, forecasting, demand or merchandising (analytical not visual) role. About the role: As a Demand Coordinator you will play a key role in ensuring the right stock is in the right place at the right time and, in the right quantities, to fulfil demand for stores and online customers. If successful you will be assigned to a specific product category and this will require you to raise purchase orders and ensuring validation for domestic (DC) and internationally supplied products. You will manage the importation process of assigned categories from over 40 countries and over 150 points of departure for deep sea, short sea, overland and airfreight. You will work to planned DC (Distribution Centre) intake schedules and within established cost and stockholding requirements. You’ll provide accurate guidance to key stakeholders in the pursuit of best performance for sourcing (prevailing duty / anti-dumping), optimal port of origin, correct lead time, cost build up and advice for best sourcing and for purchase order raising. Using a range of third party web based applications, you will maximise shipping performance, measure KPIs and provide up to date information to management and key stakeholders. You will monitor and manage supply chain performance to ensure shipments are despatched on time to our freight forwarder. You will make effective decisions, act with pace and precision relaying issues to key stakeholders and managers. You will also seek to drive efficiencies by identifying and taking action on stock which is contributing to DC capacity issues and bottlenecks. Candidate Requirements: Strong numerical and analytical skills Excel – varied use of formulas, macros and functions in order to provide effective Management Information. Operational experience placing ordering (ideally SAP but not essential) Knowledge of importation process Demonstration of being able to deliver to agreed timescales Results orientated Understands principles of deep sea, short sea, overland and air freight Knowledge of International terms of trade (inco terms) and methods of payment Knowledge of retail environment Knowledge of extended supply chain critical path Appreciation of inventory management and working capital costs This job was originally posted as
