Fire and Security Service Engineer - working from our Oldham branch.The Company Abel Alarm Company has been in business since 1965 and our company has grown into the UKs largest privately owned provider of Electronic Fire and Security Systems and is the only Independent to offer a nationwide service through local offices. We are expanding our nationwide workforce and have some great opportunities, working out of our branch office based in Oldham but covering the North West region, for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Service Engineer to join an established nationwide Security Company. You may on occasions, be asked to support the Installation team so flexibility is required. The Role The successful Engineer will be responsible for the Service and Maintenance of Intruder, CCTV, Access Control and Fire Alarm equipment. We have a competitive pay structure, travel, call out and stand-by allowance, commission scheme, company vehicle and PDA. We encourage employee development and are committed to training.The successful Service Engineer will be responsible for: 
  • Service and maintenance of our wide range of security products 
  • Advising customers on new products and services to improve efficiency 
  • Provide excellent service to customers, building solid working relationships 
  • Attending urgent service calls to meet our service level agreements 
  • Being involved in a 24 hour emergency cover rota 
  • Previous experience in the security industry including experience of working within commercial, residential and construction sites. 
  • Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills 
  • Full UK driving licence 
  • Clean criminal record as all our engineers must be CRB checked 
Key competencies: 
  • Sound technical knowledge of Fire and Security products and systems 
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety requirements 
  • Good understanding of British Standards, NSI (NACOSS) and BAFE requirements 
The role involves day to day liaison with other Engineers, Managers, Suppliers and Customers so therefore this role would suit anyone from the following backgrounds; Fire and Security Engineer, Fire Systems Engineer, Security Systems Engineer, Fire & Security Engineer, Fire and Security Engineer.
