As a Commercial Executive within our defence aerospace business team, you will support the Commercial Director and Heads of Commercial in the development of policy, process and procedure; working across Defence, with partners and coordinating with Commercial functions in other parts of the business. This is an opportunity for you to drive and manage process and standardisation activities for our business. We are the second largest global provider of defence aero-engine products and services with 18,000 engines and 160 customers in 103 countries. Our engines power aircraft in every major sector, including: transport, combat, patrol, trainers, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles. Key Accountabilities Provide leadership to the UK based team for US Government contracting and on pricing activities and catalogues process for pricing. Manage the generation, maintenance and validation of commercial function owned local procedures. Manage delivery of business improvement programmes within the Commercial function. Provide senior functional leadership for the formulation of business and commercial strategy / policy to secure and then lead the delivery of contractual terms with suppliers for new service provision in defence to customers at an acceptable level of risk and financial return. Provide guidance on the development and management of defence commercial policy and contracting. Provide leadership to develop and deliver implementation of IT system solutions within defence. Manage customer audits of property for Ministry of Defense (MOD), NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency (NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency), Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA). Ensure that the team is resourced, professionally developed and supported. Develop, implement and share commercial best practice, whether independently or through the management of teams, both within your Sector / Business and (where appropriate) across the Company and (if appropriate) embedding in local procedures or processes. Qualifications Strong commercial background including a track record of US Government contracting. Experience of preparing US Government FAR15 compliant bids. Experience of pricing in a competitive and single source environment. Independent and able to quickly win the trust of stakeholders. Cultural awareness including experience of international environment. Ability to direct resources in the Company to deliver results. Strategic and tactical planning.
