Senior Project / Infrastructure Engineer - Thame, Oxfordshire My client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to architect and implement infrastructure solutions across their group. The successful candidate will be the technical leader for key technology platforms, particularly Active Directory 2012, Systems Centre and SAN replacement. They will be responsible to devising and delivering against a project roadmap for each technology platform. Another aspect of the role will be to mentor and act as a technical expert, serve as a liaison point between development/infrastructure teams and end clients, and provide an escalation point for support requests escalated by the Service Desk. This will include working with the Service Desk to resolve issues within required SLA’s. Responsibilities Responsible for the delivery of key technology platforms, including creation of roadmaps and delivery against them. (A key area of ownership will be Active Directory). Interfaces with all levels of management and client to negotiate and agree project priorities and outcomes. Undertake and oversee delivery of agreed work on time and to budget. Provide support and an escalation point for all infrastructure related issues raised by the Service Desk. Provide solutions and completion of complex international projects Commitment to zero defect mission critical infrastructure Generates sound solutions for complex business problems, anticipates obstacles and establishes next steps. Works with the customer to involve the right people, solicits input from all relevant parties, knows and plans for stakeholder impact. Provides a friendly and positive service in a confident and professional manner Takes the initiative without over-analyzing or waiting until it is too late. Willing to accept short term solutions that meet critical and immediate needs, but committed to quality, scalable solutions. Experience required Ability to deliver infrastructure projects in line with roadmaps Excellent knowledge of IT technologies, architecture and infrastructure standards. Ability to interpret new technology trends and identify relevant commercial application Ability to architect and implement hardware and software solutions, complete risk analysis and deliver project to standard project management delivery template. Ability to mentor, supervise and direct the work of lower level staff, if required. Ability to travel to other sites (in the UK and across Europe). A ‘can-do’ attitude with initiative to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis and resolve underlying issues. Ability to prioritise work according to SLA. Essential technical skills include (in approx. order of importance): Excellent Active Directory knowledge (up to 2012R2). Experience of Federation Services implementation would be an advantage. Knowledge or implementation of Microsoft Rights Management Service SAN implementation and migration experience (preferably HP MSA/3PAR) Scripting (preferably PowerShell) ADConnect and Office 365 Administration Virtualisation (VMWare 4.x/5.x/6.x and Hyper-V) Microsoft Server 2003 -2012R2, including provisioning, migration and failover clustering. Understanding of email/Exchange principles Microsoft System Centre 2012 (SCOM) and/or other monitoring technologies. Experience of HP Server and Storage technology (SAN, iSCSI and FC) · Desirable technical skills include: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 – 2014, including failover clustering Networking including: Cisco switching and routing Cisco ASA Firewalls Microsoft ISA/TMG Server/F5 Load balancer Lync 2013/Skype for Business Anti-virus technology – McAfee ePO and/or Sophos Netbackup 7.5 Citrix (or similar) desktop virtualisation Experience of migration from on premises infrastructure to the cloud (private, Azure or AWS preferred) Experience of delivering IT in a Contact Centre environment would be an advantage.
