We are looking for 5 Shift Leading support workers to join an organisation that provides proven, quality Residential support for Young people in crisis near Radstock. The successful candidate will be paid a salary of £20,510. The Organisation The company continues to be run by Child Care practitioners to assist young people in crisis, prevent placement breakdown and to improve life chances.The five outcomes of Every Child Matters are central to their work and underpin the organisations culture and values. They offer placements to young people aged 11-18 years who experience emotional, behavioural difficulties and display challenging behaviours. Their highly qualified and experienced team share a vision and a passion to achieve excellent outcomes for all young people. Ofsted Inspections have rated all areas of this organisation as 'outstanding' or 'good'. We are looking for people who would like to work within proven, quality residential provisions that commit to successful, long-term stable placements, achieving excellent outcomes and high Ofsted rating during inspections. The company offers Young People. Established individual houses in the community, each with a dedicated team of experienced, qualified and highly trained staff, which are run as a small caring family units that provide robust and consistent boundaries and structure. Planned and emergency admissions, in either mixed or single sex living groups. Every young person has his or her own room. A comprehensive multi-disciplinary assessment environment that forms their therapeutic and behavioural plans for each young person. The role of a Support Worker The role of support worker is a critical client facing role. It involves working within a residential setting as part of a team working holistically with young people who have experienced family crises and who struggle to manage their behaviour The key outcomes for the role of support worker are: An excellent standard of care is provided for the young people, where positive routines are established and maintained and their individual needs are always taken into account. The welfare of all the young people is promoted, and the employee recognizes and assumes their responsibility to exercise particular care, vigilance and energy in their approach to safeguarding. A positive living environment is created for the young people in our care and domestic and household duties are performed to a high standard. Person Specification. Level 3 Diploma or equivalent in Health & Social Care You must hold a driving licence due to potential of escorting young people to contacts. You must also be over the age of 21 to comply with minimum standards. You must be able to work a 24 hour shift pattern that contains sleep in's Able to take responsibility for and provide the care of young people Have a drive and Motivation to work with children and young people Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and boundaries with children and young people Possess Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours Attitudes to use of authority and maintain discipline Able to recognise and assume responsibility to exercise particular care, vigilance and energy in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all young people Able to understand the issues facing young people.
