I have really exciting opportunity for a Registered manger to setup a new 7 bed Children's home in the Exeter area. You will have the opportunity to set this up from the beginning including hiring the full staff team (18 people), and input in tot the refurbishment of the home. The home itself will be split in to a 4 bed, 2 bed and 1 bed home. Salary: £40,000 - £43,000 excellent benefits package Benefits: 28 days holiday, rising by 1 day a year to a maximum of 33 Employer Contributory pension Full training (NVQ 5 in leadership if not already held) "KiddiVouchers" (Child care vouchers scheme) Organisation: The client is well established and strives to provide a 'secure base' in which positive developmental changes can happen. Fundamental to their ethos is to work effectively with young people, assisting and developing their ability to communicate safely, effectively and at an appropriate developmental level. They endeavour to be creative in their work with young people. This is not always approached within a structured format but achieved through their every day experiences, both individually and through informal group work. Key outcomes: To manage the home to ensure it meets the standards as expected in the Statement of purpose Achieve GOOD as a minimum as an OFSTED rating. Effectively manage the onsite inspection process by acting as the interface with OFSTED. Ensure the home is staffed adequately by managing the team to include daily rota management, holiday requests, absence cover, attendance at training and sessional bank. To provide a 24 hr on-call provision whilst on the on-call rota system Manage and operate budgets within financial guidelines An excellent standard of care is provided for the young people, where positive routines are established and maintained and their individual needs are always taken into account. Ensuring all the clients values, philosophy and practice guidelines are adhered to at all times by implementing company policies and procedures effectively The welfare of all the young people looked after and the client is promoted, and the employee recognises and assumes their responsibility to exercise particular care, vigilance and energy in their approach to safeguarding. A positive living environment is created for the young people in our care and domestic and household duties are performed to a high standard. All risk assessments are adhered to and you will create and oversee the Young People’s care plan and placement plan. You will always ensure that any relevant amendments are adhered. To maintain good communication systems within your home Health & Safety regulations are fully observed, alongside any other relevant legislation and responsibility is taken to ensure they are implemented within your home. Effective and accurate communication is developed with the young people, their families and others and respect is always shown for their views and opinions. The equality, diversity and rights of each young person are promoted and all their cultural, linguistic and religious needs are met. Everything is done to ensure that your team and young people are subject to or responsible for Anti- discriminatory practice and any acts of discrimination or harassment are reported to a Director. Young people are supervised effectively, a positive level of control is maintained and age-appropriate activities are devised. Any concerns about young people reported to yourself will be investigated and acted upon. To ensure effective interface and dialogue with the Designated Child Protection Officer and to maintain and high level of practice in relation to Safeguarding Self-development is prioritised for your team and ensure supervisions, appraisals, staff meetings and learning opportunities happen regularly Confidentiality is always kept including that around young people, employees, systems and procedures, both during and after employment.
