Leading role to support new business projects, primarily in the Automotive sector in respect of the commercial appraisal and the design of the operational solution. Client Details A market leading global organisation servicing the Tier 1 and OEM automotive market sector, based in Preston Description AUTOMOTIVE - ENGINEERING - PROGRAMMES - PRESTON Lead the Solutions Delivery, Engineering, other project support functions as required. Direct, develop, and present to management various analyses (e.g., organizational, systems, feasibility, cost/benefit studies, implementation plans). Partner with Business Development and implement new opportunities as directed. Gather data, develop improvement objectives, and implement improvements. Partner and interface with customers and strategic clients to perform client management, consultation, and business development. Oversee operational activities as they relate to new plant / process introductions. Evaluate total business performance identifying and implementing business solutions. Maintain a detailed understanding of functional area and strong knowledge of architectures and strategies across Operations and other support areas participating as a leader in their development. Exercise judgement and influence on key technical decisions (e.g., standards and policies, environment selection, operational processes, and technical solutions). Establish plans and prioritise initiatives. Make hiring recommendations. Integrate internal and external resources. Assign work, monitor work quality, and review output. Develop skills of staff through coaching and other work assignments. Profile AUTOMOTIVE - ENGINEERING - PROGRAMMES - PRESTON To perform this job successfully the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities as follows. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field is required. Extensive experience and a proven track record in Operations Management, Engineering, IT, or Logistics Planning in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Power Point, and Visio. Proficiency with AutoCAD. WMS experience would be a plus. Experience with automotive assembly, sequencing and part distribution is a pre-requisite and practical experience of managing and supporting multiple facilities is desirable. Use and experience of Methods Time Measurement (MTM) methodology is also required. Job Offer Circa £70,000 to £75,000 plus car, bonus, benefits This job was originally posted as
