Your new role This is a hands-on development role that will also require you to lead on developing and implementing systems improvements to meet the needs of a growing and demanding customer base. It is a broad role helping the organisation to move from older legacy systems to newer, fresh technologies. You will liaise with stakeholders and support your manager in leading the team to put forward ideas, innovate and provide solutions. You be working on developing and delivering bespoke as well as packaged solutions. You will be using Java, SQL, in an Agile working environment. You will join a really talented development team who are really passionate about their work. It is a broad, challenging and varied role which will enable you to develop professionally and personally. What you'll need to succeed You will have a relevant computer science or technology degree, or demonstrable career experience to show a high level of professional knowledge. You will have experience with Java platforms (e.g. J2EE) or similar, enterprise scale applications, you will have substantial experience both of analysing user requirements and designing information systems that meet those requirements whilst also adhering to relevant IT standards. If you have any experience of ITIL, and working in the full development life cycle, on Open Source projects, and of front end development using JavaScript, CSS and HTML5 this would be useful. Knowledge of Cloud (Azure) and Spring MVC would also be particularly relevant as the organisation is planning transition in these areas moving forward.
