Communications Executive (FTC) What is the purpose of this role? We are currently looking for a Communications Executive to work for the UK's largest water and Sewerage Company on an 18-month fixed term contract. We want you to take a lead role in evolving the way we communicate with our people. The water industry is changing with competition coming in 2017. We have a great transformation plan and we need a Communications Specialist, for 18 months, to join our small team and help our people understand and embrace these new opportunities. We need someone with energy and enthusiasm to help us develop and deliver outstanding communications and campaigns for the wholesale wastewater business. We work in a fascinating business that is responsible for overseeing the collection of 4.2bn litres of wastewater every day and transforming it into clean river water and renewable energy while ensuring our 3,000 strong workforce and contractor partners are kept safe every day. What make this role unique? Working within our Wholesale Wastewater business, you'll be given responsibility for specific business units, managing relationships with our business leaders to understand and deliver their priorities across the business. This is a great opportunity to work independently and shape the job in the way you want whilst being as creative as possible. What will this role involve? This is a fast-paced role where you will generate bags of ideas while managing multiple projects in order to inform and engage our workforce. We want to create a digital culture, so a love for new technology and online content will be a definite advantage. Writing and producing materials and supporting our managers and customer facing staff to ensure our messages are received effectively. Continuing to promote and embody the company's vision and values developed by our people, while vividly bringing to life the wastewater story. Enabling our people, who are located across the Thames Valley and London, to feel ownership of the business and a driving force behind the changes that are being made. Developing, maintaining and evolving our communications network while being flexible in sharing duties as part of a small team and being part of our operational events desk. Working with our colleagues in the corporate, change and wider business unit communications teams to develop and deliver joined-up strategies. What skills are we looking for? To be successful with your application you will need to have extensive internal communications experience, with some in a business partnering position. You will have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills and be able to write compelling, accurate and concise material for a range of internal audiences. You will have a good track-record of developing and delivering communications plans. You will also have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with individuals at all levels of the company and to engage, influence and win the support of senior managers and our contractor and alliance partners. It is vital you not only have an understanding of - but a real passion for - the power of internal communications to drive change and engagement and assist a company in achieving its objectives. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes essential and experience in producing video and online content would be an advantage Must hold a full driver's licence and car. This 18-month fixed term contract is based in Central Reading, Berkshire and is offering a basic salary of up to £40k per annum depending on skills and experience.
