Exciting opportunity within Yorkshire Water for a Project Engineer to join the team based at our Knostrop site but covering the Yorkshire region. What is the purpose of the role? As a Planning/Project Engineer you will be responsible for providing engineering and maintenance planning with management leadership in the scope development; resource forecasting; technical planning; operations liaison and delivery of the annual programmed maintenance events. You will ensure all work activity is performed to the correct technical standards, by competent personnel, meeting the original project scope. As a Planning/Project Engineer you will be responsible for providing engineering and maintenance planning with management leadership in the scope development; resource forecasting; technical planning; operations liaison and delivery of the annual programmed maintenance events. You will ensure all work activity is performed to the correct technical standards, by competent personnel, meeting the original project scope. What will your role involve? You will be responsible for the end to end project management of all programmed maintenance work and will liaise closely with the programme manager to develop resource forecasting models and minimise disruption to routine maintenance activities. You will be responsible for the delivery of the programmed maintenance events on budget to the level of detail specified in the applicable maintenance strategy and will develop a detailed scope of all works included in the maintenance events. Determining planning requirements; resource selection (internal and/or external); equipment hire; parts and spares. You will work closely with work schedulers, Internal Craft Delivery teams and External Suppliers to ensure work is delivered on time and on budget and will develop cyclical maintenance delivery strategies in conjunction with programme managers to drive through to implementation. You will initially plan and potentially deliver, to aid understanding, some of the new Maintenance strategies coming from the Asset Integrity team and identify the best way to deliver in the future for successful sustainability. This role involves working on both clean and waste water assets of treatments works; pumping stations and incinerators across all of Yorkshire. Therefore a full valid UK driving licence is essential. A company vehicle will be provided for your use if you required. This is a full time role working 37 hours per week. To help us achieve our vision of 'taking responsibility for the water environment for good' we currently have a vacancy for a Maintenance Planning/Project Engineer within the Maintenance Programme team of our Engineering Reliability Department who will be based out of our Knostrop site in Leeds and will be covering the Yorkshire region. What skills are we looking for? You will have the ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships and be able to work effectively with equipment manufacturers to identify shortfalls and propose enhancements. You will have significant knowledge and application of project management techniques and practices and have the knowledge and application of creating equipment maintenance and reliability plans for new equipment. Experience and proficiency in the use of, Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Management tools eg SAP and MSProject with a strong focus on planning Engineering Campaigns Maintenance programmes is essential. Ideally applicants will have previous experience in a commercially orientated and / or regulated environment along with previous experience gained within the water or waste sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors. Educated to ONC/HNC/BTEC or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical or ICA Engineering is essential with Degree qualified in one or more of the same disciplines an advantage. Experience of Mechanical, Electrical and/or ICA maintenance activities would be a major advantage and ATEX Knowledge a desirable.
