Purpose of the job : To be responsible for the efficient management of the Housekeeping Department, working within budgets to appropriately staff & provide the full rooms & laundry provisions for the hotel. To oversee and direct the day to day operation, ensuring an exceptional standard of presentation is observed across the hotel rooms & public areas. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Reports directly to the General Manager Provide supervision, training & development for all team members including the Supervisors & Assistant Manager Effective recruitment, selection & team building to lead a team of highly motivated individuals committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences Conduct timely appraisals & personal development plans for the team, creating training plans & liaising with HR to ensure opportunities to training to development are maximised Proactively plan ahead to ensure all areas of the hotel are maintained to a high standard Ensure every bedroom is cleaned & turned out to a 5 star standard within strict timeframes Liaise & build good working relationships with external service providers Effective stock management & ordering of all cleaning materials & bedroom sundries Full responsibility for the provision of linen across the hotel Prepare annual departmental budgets Responsible for statutory compliance across the department, delivering H&S training to the team as required ensuring every team member is compliant in all areas or Fire, H&S, COSHH & Manual Handling training Provide exceptional levels of guest service; capable of effectively dealing with guest complaints, queries & lost property Promote good communication between the Housekeeping department & all other departments within the hotel. Ensure accurate room status is communicated to Front Office & Maintenance Produce work schedules & payroll information for the Housekeeping department, observing hotel KPI’s, staffing & occupancy levels & the departmental budget Ensure the hotel branding & vision is consistently communicated. Proactively promote the hotel in all undertakings Be an active member of the Hotel Management Team & attend all meetings as requested PERSON SPECIFICATION A proven career in Housekeeping within luxury/boutique hotels. Previous experience of working at Manager or Assistant Manager level Passion for hospitality & exceeding guest expectations through providing exceptional guest experiences A natural leader committed to the development & success of your team Motivational trainer & people manager Highly organized with efficient administrative skills High attention to detail & disciplined to work within strict timeframes Good interpersonal skills & confident liaising & building relationships with other Managers & external service providers Well presented & an enthusiastic ambassador for our hotel This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/66884486
