Hatstand, a global financial consultancy, is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to be part of a DevOps team within a Tier 1 Investment Bank. This vacancy is part of the Hatstand Green Beret Programme, our unique talent development programme which arms talented graduates with the skills and experience necessary to craft a career in the competitive financial sector. The DevOps team is responsible for writing scripts to automate processes, troubleshoot server issues, manage users, analyse data and assess latency while ensuring smooth operation for the team. Development follows Agile methodology along-with TDD (Test Driven Development) and Continuous Integration. You should have: Knowledge on Linux/Unix/Windows operating systems Exposure to MS SQL/Sybase/Oracle databases Experience in any of the security protocols such as Kerberos, SSL etc. Exposure to database administration and infrastructure management Experience in writing technical documentation, managing complex distributed stacks, performing parallel computing, real time messaging or batch scheduling would be highly preferable Excellent communication skills A team player with strong analytical mindset, a keen eye for detail and a 'can-do' attitude Please note: This role will start in London but move to Bromley early 2017 Hatstand - a Synechron company is a Global Financial Consultancy and Capital Markets Specialist.
