What’s the role all about? Our Enterprise engineers are our most highly trained and experienced engineers, who work on our largest and most complex customer solutions. The solutions often include several layers including WAFs, caching reverse proxies, load balancing and high availability web and database servers. The engineers are expected to help design and maintain these solutions, and advise on any customer issues. What will my responsibilities be? In addition to helping customers, the enterprise engineers are also responsible for maintaining and progressing our own infrastructure as well as pioneering new products. Time is allocated for engineer projects, which they manage from the ground up. We’re looking for incredible technical individuals with amazing communication skills that can share their knowledge with our customers and our team. Being passionate about what you do is a pre-requisite along with an ability to multi-task, prioritise and be able to work on your own initiative. What skills do I need to have? Extensive experience in: · Multiple distributions of Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, etc) · Web servers (nginx, Apache) · Databases (MySQL, Percona, MariaDB, PostgresSQL) · Reverse Proxy Caching (Varnish, nginx) · Scripting (Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby, Go… anything) Experience in: · Enterprise monitoring solutions (e.g. Nagios, Zabbix). · High availability solutions (e.g. heartbeat, pacemaker, Red Hat Cluster Suite) · Virtualisation Platforms (VMWare, Openstack) · Exposure to SANs (3PAR, Dell Equilogic, Compellent) · Configuration Management (Saltstack, Ansible, Puppet) Ideally, certification in: · RHCE · LPIC-2/3 · Ubuntu Certified Professional What’s the earning potential? · We offer a salary of £25-40k depending on experience What are my working hours? This role will cover a shift pattern to include 5 days covering shifts of 8-5, 9-6 or 11-8 between Monday-Sunday. Typically weekend shifts are on a 1 in 5 rotation. This role also covers night shifts, on a cover only basis to cover holidays and sickness.
