They are engaged in national waste management service, with their own processing and transport facilities they can offer specialist recycling services to potential customers. You will be responsible for a fleet of HGV and Industrial vehicles Give work instructions and monitor the performance of drivers and operatives, i.e. briefing/debriefing during course of working day Ensure safe vehicle operations, MOT’s , servicing, LOLER testing, wheel security, monitor vehicle gross weights etc. Ensure fleet compliance with transport and environmental legislation Contribute toward on-going cost control, actively seeking to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs Ensure that all aspects of Health & Safety are adhered to, including H&S induction and training, operating procedures, near miss reporting and emergency procedures Ensure team complete all tachograph records and feedback on any infringements. You will have a good knowledge of legislation EXPERIENCE REQUIRED- Transport Manager CPC / Certificate of Professional Competence Qualified National or International or European Road Haulage. You will have excellent planning skills You will be extremely committed and have stability in previous roles Experience of running vehicle and driver compliance. You will have had experience in some capacity a transport role e.g., fleet, dispatch, distribution or logistics operations. You may have been a Logistics Supervisor / Distribution Planner / Dispatcher / Multi Drop Courier / Traffic Controller / Military Logistics Officer You will have excellent IT skills and a good working knowledge of MS Office, ideally working with formulas on Excel. Good communication and organisation skills.
