THE COMPANY: Calibrate Engineering Recruitment are pleased to be working with the UK site of a global manufacturing business who employ thousands of people across multiple countries as they look to recruit a Continuous Improvement Manager to manage multiple sites in the UK. Working with the Group Operations Director, Group Continuous Improvement Director and UK Senior Management team, the purpose of your role will be to identity, lead and deploy Continuous Improvement initiative across the UK plants and business groups and deliver bottom line performance improvement. You will include effective deployment of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, business process improvement assessment, planning, facilitation and execution of kaizen events and the systematic improvement of standard work practices and procedures. THE JOB: Specific duties and responsibilities will include: Regularly complete audits, safety inspections and risk assessments Promote health and safety within your department and ensure your department is aware of health and safety standards You will be responsible for identifying where staff or processes can be developed to comply with safe working practices. Project managing approved CI programs by coordinating the necessary resources and setting controls to achieve the agreed objectives. Coach, mentor and educate employees to develop, support and sustain a CI culture. Facilitate and lead CI events as the subject matter expert. Leverage best practices established through CI projects to other activities. Execute plans by building and utilising cross-functional teams to meet/exceed business goals. Coach others to enhance their personal performance by setting focused targets and objectives. Monitor the cost, schedule and progress of all CI projects and events and intervene to take remedial actions where appropriate THE PERSON: The company are looking for someone with: Strong experience in a previous CI role within a manufacturing environment, including using Lean techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Standard Work Cellular Flow, Mistake Proofing, Total Productive Maintenance Good knowledge of Six Sigma principles with an ability to carry out statistical analysis such as Root Cause Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis and the Design of Experiments Experience of leading change within a manufacturing environment Good IT skills are essential for this role The sort of person who would be suitable is someone who is passionate about continuous improvement and has the ability to communicate both externally and internally with a variety of stakeholders, with the enthusiasm to drive change.
