You will have a keen eye for detail and process improvement and understand fully the importance and benefit of operational risk, regulatory reports and status requirements. Key Responsibilities will vary but will include typically Being accountable for all IT operations to ensure the business operates successfully, 24x7x365. Adding strategic guidance and support to a cross functional IT Hub. Management of Information Security, implementation and enforcement of data retention. In-depth understanding of Operational Risk, focusing and delivering against how/what/why key strategic decisions are accomplished - Making key active decisions relating to the organisations functions and its priorities Ownership of visits from Internal and External Auditors and ensuring actions are completed ahead of schedule. Providing strong leadership within the IT function, including ensuring the delivery of projects across all functions in IT - joining together IT development, IT Support and Business Systems Regular exposure across senior Stake Holder management Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organisation's and that emphasises the identified mission and values of the organisation Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output. Ensure all the department's processes are fully documented and policies are backed up with solid, defined procedures. Compilation of department statistics for performance of systems, suppliers and third parties. Person Specification Self-disciplined and self-motivated Be comfortable working with people at all levels of the business and externally The ability to prioritize your workload, that of your team, and be able to keep to deadlines and commitments (as well as managing teams to their deadlines and commitments) The ability to understand the needs and objectives of the business, and be proactive in recommending ways in which technology can be used to deliver them Be confident in implementing changes, and keeping focused during times of change and uncertainty You'll need Experience as a senior IT manager, preferably within the Financial Services sector Experience of working in a company with in-house Development teams, as well as managing projects that require multi-skilled (or cross functional) teams.
