JW 92a - Manufacturing Manager / Machine Shop Manager Key skills: Experience of working in a machine shop, Sound knowledge and experience of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) Experience of modern CNC turning/milling engineering shop environment with state of the art CNC machines such as 5axis twin spindle sand modern manufacturing techniques. It is expected that you will be heavily involved in rolling out 5s and process improvement initiatives. Managing Kaizen events. TPM and SMED. A robust individual who thrives on pressure and tough challenges. Candidates will come from a machine shop environment. Flexible to work additional hours as necessary. Dynamic and forward thinking individual. A background in manufacturing and machining is required Experience of managing teams of 100 shop floor engineers Job description: You will be responsible for managing the machine shop with the aid of Production Managers and Team Leaders. Reporting to the Plant Operations Manager, you will plan production & manufacturing output in order to achieve our targets and meet customer requirements. You will be an experienced, competent engineer with significant experience in change management, people management and manufacturing engineering. You must be numerate, analytical and highly results driven - focusing your work on utilising the key practices to drive improved performance. This is a leadership position and as such, this needs to be a skilled and professional individual who leads by example. We're looking for a change manager who will push and drive through improvements in OEE, (Overall Equipment Effectiveness). You will need to be able to provide strong evidence of the following: Experience from a Machining environment Managing headcount Managing spend & Overtime Capital & Non-capital investments Modern manufacturing techniques Experienced in implementing 5s and process improvement initiatives. Managing Kaizen events. Long term plan for the department is to grow the existing Production Managers and develop a succession plan for the Operations Manager.
