Position: Garment Technologist Location: London Salary: £Competitive ROLE: Responsible for your own product categories, this role offers technical design assistance during the design process through to leading the pre-production and sealing process before bulk production. A Garment Technician will carry out fits at prototype, salesman sample and pre-production stages and create all technical packs. At the pre-production stage they must liaise with design team, UK & Asia retail teams and sourcing office to ensure smooth transition into bulk production. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assist in launching new prototypes including feedback from previous seasons - Partner with design to confirm fit, detailing and trims - Work with HK team in Asia specific fits and requirements - Ensure Technical development tracks the Product Development Critical Path - Coordinate all fittings from first proto through to final pre-production sample - Communicate fittings comments and technical specifications to vendors - Responsible for the quality of sealed samples for production - Deliver price valued production across all lines - Visit vendors to improve product and ensure quality production - Manage Grade Rules for production - Implement Trinity standards of make quality and tolerances - Identify and comply with technical requirements for export / import - Partner with sourcing office on counter sampling opportunities - Contribute to seasonal training handbook and assist in retail staff training - Resolve any QC issues that may arise ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE: You will have significant experience in a technical role, preferably within a luxury sector and be able to demonstrate commercial awareness. Having a proactive, independent nature with problem solving skills coupled with the confidence in handling multiple stakeholders is key to be successful in this position. As well as this you will be able to remain productive and collected under pressure with strong communication skills and negotiation techniques. Overall advanced computer skills, in particularly Microsoft Excel is needed.
