Reference Number 014271 Location Gilmorehill Campus / Main Building College / Service COLLEGE OF MVLS Department RI INFECTION IMMUNITY & INFLAMMATION Job Family Clinical Position Type Full Time Salary Range £32,803 - £58,018 Job Purpose The postholder will facilitate clinical research experience and training in rheumatology whilst supporting the MRC funded BIO-FLARE ( BIO logical F actors that L imit sust A ined RE mission in rheumatoid arthritis) project. As a Clinical Research Fellow (CRF) this post will allow the development of research skills and production of data which the CRF may use to compete for external funding to continue the research project leading to the submission of an MD or PhD degree. Although research will form the major component of this post, participation in associated clinical duties and teaching will be incorporated into the Job Plan according to individual needs. Salary will be on the Clinical Academic pay scale £32,803 - £58,018 per annum. The post may carry an additional entitlement depending on "on-call" responsibilities. This banding payment is paid under a separate arrangement with the NHS for which the University acts as paymaster only. This post is justifiably fixed-term, as a training post, under the Fixed-term Employees (prevention of Less Favourable Treatment) Regulations 2002 and will end within 6 months of the completion of specialist training. The funding for the position is available until 30 November 2020. Members of staff are normally eligible to contribute to the Universities' Superannuation Scheme (USS) and on appointment shall be deemed to be in membership of the scheme and contributions deducted accordingly, unless the University is advised in writing prior to the commencement of employment of a wish not to join."
