Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer Location: West Yorkshire, Commutable from Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Halifax, Bradford, Leeds, Rotherham, Doncaster Salary: Negotiable dependent upon experience Job Purpose To provide Quality Engineering leadership & support to drive our supplier partners towards excellence in Quality, Cost, Delivery and Innovation. The role requires both UK and foreign travel and has accountability across UK Operations Job Description Supplier selection & approval Supplier alignment to RFDE strategy & goals Ensure supplier adherence to required quality, environmental & health and safety standards (ISO/TS 16949, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001 Support New Product Introduction (NPI) & Engineering Change, using the Automotive Industry Core Tools Lead & support supplier improvement & development roadmaps to achieve strategic goals, objectives & targets in all areas; Quality, Cost, Delivery, Innovation, Safety & Morale Support, liaise with & assist the Operations Team to eliminate/minimise the impact of supplier deficiencies in all areas of manufacturing & logistics Manage & oversee the Receiving Inspection function Lead & support problem solving activities to ensure robust countermeasures are implemented in a timely manner & in accordance with customer requirements Supplier development through Lean & Six Sigma projects Support the Supply Chain Team to achieve objectives & targets in Process Of Continuous Improvement Supplier audits/visits to both domestic & overseas locations Budget management Knowledge, Skills & Experience required: HND in an engineering discipline or other equivalent industry recognised Quality Assurance discipline Qualified & experienced lead auditor Sound knowledge of ISO/TS16949 & ISO9001 Knowledge/awareness of ISO 14001 Minimum 5 years working within an automotive industry quality environment Experience in six sigma & lean initiatives Understanding of cost models/structures Excellent problem solving skills Possess good project management skills Good technical awareness Possess good interpersonal skills Excellent communication/presentation skills Must be structured, logical, proactive, hard working with a good attention to detail Have the ability to lead & develop through positive coaching/training Awareness of multi-cultural societies Willing to learn & develop new skills in line with automotive industry advancements The company prides itself on creating an inspiring environment for employees, generating an ethos of entrepreneurial spirit and rewarding opportunities.
