Working with one such company with their base in Coventry, I am looking for multiple Senior Infrastructure Specialists (Wintel). ROLE Provide authoritative, specialist infrastructure expertise to I.T teams to deliver or contribute to delivering Project lifecycle artefacts (Solutions overviews, P.I.D’s, Project briefs, Supplier reviews). Undertake and document the detailed Technical design of infrastructure solutions to meet Project objectives. To lead the build, configuration and implementation of the infrastructure required to meet Business Change or Infrastructure Upgrade projects within the timescales agreed with the Project Manager. To ensure that all solutions consider security, capacity planning, contingency and support in line with current published policies. Lead and review the production and maintenance of technical documentation and operational procedures as required. Take responsibility for the effective delivery and transition of solutions into Service Operations. Responsible for effective governance of all deliverables produced, whilst working for the project or programme as well as providing guidance and support to Technical Services to ensure alignment to standards, policies and procedures. This includes providing sign-off for both peer and formal reviews of documentation and representation in the Technical Solutions Design Authority. Take responsibility for the effective delivery and transition of solutions into Service Operations. To provide training and direction to team members or external resources where they require assistance, either through formal briefing sessions, or on the job. Ownership of one or more specific areas within the Infrastructure estate. Essential skills and experience: Experience: Coaching and mentoring team members Role related experience, or extensive experience of delivering Infrastructure services / solutions to a mission critical environment. Planning / Design / Implementation experience end to end within project lifecycle Capacity planning, performance tuning, proactive monitoring. Change control, release procedures and tools. Knowledge of systems management procedures in a commercial environment ITIL based service management framework WINTEL Wintel Experience VMware Virtualisation. HP Server / Blade / Cluster Technology. Skill / Experience in the following desirable (Wintel): An appreciation of web services, XML standards An appreciation of Windows based applications. IT Security, TMG, Finjan, mailsweeper Backup software (Commvault Simpana) Powershell scripting Branch Systems (Focus) support. Exchange email services (2010). IIS, COM, web browser, .net and associated Internet/Intranet technology. SAN technology (NetApp) and utilities.
