12 month – Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover) We are currently recruiting for a 12 month maternity cover for this key role which supports business critical application services for GTA. As an Application Support Engineer you will be responsible for resolving incidents and solving problems using a broad range of skills in order to provide a level of service to the business that meets agreed SLAs. Key duties will include: Keeping key application documentation up to date and upload to the ASM knowledge base Reacting to alerts and link spikes and trends in monitoring to application health for early diagnosis and swift resolution of issues. Proactively identifying gaps in existing monitoring and suggesting and implementing improvements. Raising problem tickets when incident resolutions do not address root cause Review requirements from Business Analysts and Project Managers, as well as attending end of development sprint demos, to understand the behaviour and impact on Application Support of new functionality delivered in releases and deployments Applicants will need to demonstrate previous experience as an Application Support Engineer and must have experience and knowledge of HTML, API and XML messaging and a basic knowledge of Java development language, Linux and Unix Operating Systems, Web services and ETL Processes. Knowledge of, and exposure to, Agile Software Development methodology and the ITIL framework and experience working in e-commerce, particularly travel or retail would also be desirable.
