Materials Handler for Bombardier Transportation GWR Project – Reading Salary: £28,000 (Inc Shift Allowance) benefits 3 shift pattern – Morning (05:40 – 14:00. Mon - Fri) Afternoon (13:40 – 22:00, Mon – Fri) Night (21:40 – 06:00, Sun – Thurs) 42 hours, permanent. Job Summary: The Materials Handler forms part of the Team delivering our material supply obligations at shop floor level, dealing directly with the Customer whilst applying a team approach and maintaining open communication with both the GWR Production staff and Bombardier Transport Team. The Materials Handlers role is to enhance and continually improve the effectiveness of the Reading Material Supply requirements, and Customer Satisfaction. Responsibilities and Duties: Maintain a professional demeanour that reflects commitment to quality, continuous improvement, diversity, and respect for individuals whilst complying with all Quality and Safety requirements. Follow systems and procedures outlined by company / project manuals. Goods Receipt/Goods Issue, replenishment of stock and tracking of material float through SAP. Undertake the Perpetual Inventory cycle count process as determined by the Materials Coordinator/Manager. Generate paper work and SAP records for stock rejections/overhaul items/repair items and warranty claims. Support/Provide Holiday relief cover for the Materials Coordinator as required. Picking kits required for component exchange programmes. Interface and collaborate with full materials team, to manage maximum stock availability Personal Profile: Be a positive, motivating example for other employees Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort. Candidates must be able to demonstrate diligence, flexibility and experience of working within a similar role. Experience of using SAP or similar databases is desirable.
