Job Purpose: The HR Manager develops, advises on and implements policies relating to the effective use of personnel within the organisation. Their aim is to ensure that the organisation employs the right balance of staff in terms of skills and experience. You will be involved in a range of activities required by the organisation. These cover areas such as working practices, recruitment, pay and conditions of employment, negotiation with external work-related agencies, and equality and diversity Main Responsibilities: · Monitor and control absence Management · Work closely with departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures · Recruiting staff - this includes developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates · Developing and implementing policies on issues such as working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management · Preparing staff handbooks · Advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including benefits · Negotiating with staff and their representatives (trade union officials) on issues relating to disciplinary and grievance · Maintaining employee records · Interpreting and advising on employment law · Conducting and dealing with grievances and implementing disciplinary procedures. · Developing with line managers HR planning strategies · Planning, and delivering, inductions for new staff · Perform any other duties that are deemed to be reasonable by the Senior Management Key Skills: · HR experience is essential · Experience within an industrial factory would be an advantage Salary: up to £25k dependant on experience This job was originally posted as
