Role Profile In an effort to improve process and drive efficiency within infrastructure Amelco are looking to hire a Linux Systems Engineer to work within the Infrastructure Operations Team. You will be a forward thinking, open-source focused individual with a passion for technology and the continuous improvement of infrastructure processes. Working in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities you will be able to manage your own workload in line with Agile working methods as well as contributing to team projects. Role Requirements - Strong knowledge of Ubuntu: build, configure, deploy and troubleshoot - Proficient with VMware - Good bash/python scripting skills - Experience with Ansible or similar - Experience with Administering applications Servers, servlet containers and web Servers (Apache Tomcat, Jetty, Nginx, Apache HTTP server) - Open-source focused Role Responsibilities - Work to automate deployment, update and maintenance tasks - Assist the team in responding to incidents - Assist the team in proactive infrastructure maintenance - 3rd line support for Service desk and Developers - On-call support participation - Occasional weekend maintenance Desirable - Experience with Java app administration - Zabbix or other monitoring tools experience - Understanding of software development cycle Personal Attributes - Driven to self-develop, learn new technologies - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work well as an individual and as part of a team This job was originally posted as
