QA Tester required to join my excellent public sector clients existing testing team on an initially 6 months fixed term position with the opportunity to then go permanent thereafter. As the QA Tester you will have a proven track record of functional testing at various levels and have strong project delivery lifecycle experience within both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and will be happy taking ownership of the test deliverables. You will be used to working as part of a well-oiled team, but also alongside external organisations IT departments or a software delivery. QA Tester will be a self-starter who is capable of managing own time and tasks to agreed timescales whilst working under pressure. Requirements: Minimum ISEB/ISTQB foundation accreditation in software testing. Strong experience working with external organisations IT/software departments Proven track record of functional testing at various levels such as: Integration Testing, Smoke Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Interface Testing, Usability Testing, System Testing and Regression Testing Experience with source control such as GIT and/or TFS Proven experience in using SQL to interrogate data within a database. Experience in using test management and defect tracking tools Experience of formal development and test methods and/or Project Delivery Lifecycle. Experience with working in both agile and waterfall development projects Proven experience of developing code in an automated test environment, using recognised testing tools and frameworks. Work closely with the DevOps tooling function to supply solutions to teams and help the teams get up to speed Taking ownership of the test deliverables. Establishing goals and objectives for appropriate test cycles, defining and maintaining test standards and quality assurance tasks. Creation of test strategy/test approach for products and projects, and provide regular status reports on project activities. Maintaining a high level of communication. Such as: Enrich test conditions into fully featured test cases. Challenge the business where appropriate to ensure ambiguity is removed. Run automated test cases against the software solutions being provided and report the findings to the project team. Raise, support and retest defect until resolution. Working with other business stakeholders to ensure your automated regression suite meets standards and has appropriate coverage based on the project. Ensuring clear estimations on test activities. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to communicate confidently with all levels within IT and with the business.
