Demand Planner (Analytical Lead Merchandiser) Milton Keynes £30-40k Benefits Our client is looking for either an experienced Demand Planner, Supply Chain Planner/Analyst or Merchandiser (head office, not to be confused with a visual merchandiser) from a large retail background About the role: Working as the Demand Planners you will be assigned to support a specified category and will ensure they have stock in the right place, at the right time, and in the right quantity to fulfil demand for stores and online. To deliver this you will need to use analysis to measure and forecast demand. This will require excellent stakeholder management with the Category Manager and Buyer, plus supporting functions including Distribution and Finance. Both working capital and logistical cost management is critical to ensure that stock flow from both international and domestic suppliers (non DTS) is efficient. Leadership is a major part of the role to ensure the Demand Coordinators are correctly managing stock replenishment and ensuring stock is at an optimum level. You will drive efficiencies through identifying and taking action on stock which is contributing to DC capacity issues and bottlenecks. Leadership and coaching are both required to create a high performing team which is vital and you will be expected to lead by example. There will be also be a high degree of interaction with 3PL providers both internationally and domestically. Candidate Requirements • Strong commercial awareness, a desired technical expertise ideally in a retail or fast moving, high pressured environment • Good inter-personnel skills, a team player with a positive “can do” outlook who is able to confidently influence and present to senior levels • Demonstrate energy, commitment, focus and follow-through to deliver high quality results whilst still pro-actively working towards wider functional objectives • Proactive, self-motivated and diligent with an attention to detail • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience of identifying and delivering performance improvements to drive change • Takes personal responsibility for raising the bar on performance • Good IT and numerical skills with particular emphasis on MS Office packages & PO Visibility Tools • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively • High level of understanding of Third Party Logistics industry and able to demonstrate an extensive network • High level of understanding of the International and Domestic Supply Chain including standard industry procedures and best practice.
