A great new role has opened up with an industry leader in the New Business Consultancy market. Our client is looking for a passionate and hungry Business Development Director to grow sales and lead a dynamic and experienced new business team.

JOB TITLE: Business Development Director - New Business Consultancy
PACKAGE: Up to £55K, OTE £70K Uncapped + Benefits

- Currently circa 30 UK employees;
- Established almost 20 years;
- Turnover of almost £2M.


- You must have experience selling into or working for a creative marketing agency;
- You will be a new business hunter;
- Creative;
- Smart;
- Polished;
- Possibly a Business Development Manager in a leadership role looking for a step up within a creative and close knit organisation;
- You must be an intelligent and excellent communicator, experienced in business and have a sound grasp of the nature of marketing and creative agencies, plus the work they do for clients;
- Effective time management & excellent IT skills are paramount in a time-pressured and often demanding role;
- You must be committed to this as a career - this is a critical role within the company which requires a long-term investment in time and energy;
- You are a natural leader - can motivate, inspire and enthuse your business development team;
- First rate grammar and spelling is essential.


- Selling creative lead generation solutions;
- This role is 80% New Business, 20% Account Management;
- Selling into creative marketing agencies;
- From SME level to Enterprise;
- Average orders of around £60K per client per year;
- Sales cycles of 4-6 weeks;
- You will be selling into Director / C-Level;
- With a year 1 target of 48 new clients / 4 per month;
- Acquire new clients which are both profitable and sustainable, in the UK, US and Europe;
- Ensure quarterly revenue targets are met - which is bonusable. This is the primary function of the role;
- Develop a comprehensive and detailed understanding of the brand, group partners, and how their work transforms clients' businesses and therefore how it applies to the prospect market;
- Recruit, train, equip and lead the staff in the business development team doing day-to-day prospecting;
- Ensure sales and marketing productivity targets are met;
- Write excellent proposals, succinct and impactful with 100% attention to detail;
- Provide frank reporting and analysis of your successes and failures in discussion with the MD and other director colleagues as appropriate;
- Liaise with the Group Marketing Director to ensure you are supported with a workable marketing plan and calendar of seminars, events, viewpoint pieces, etc. Ensure there is a robust and consistent marketing campaign in place.
