Global Job Title : Lead Developer

Location: London

Reporting to: Development Manager

Purpose of the role

Develop & deliver high quality software solutions.

Work alongside global business users, architects, analysts and testers in agile delivery teams that use CLIENT Worldwide's behaviour-driven development (BDD) process to meet requirements, acceptance criteria and technical designs.


Lead a team of developer and tester.

Responsible for allocation of work to team members, taking account of individuals' abilities and requirements of the work.

Measure, monitor, report and continually improve individual team member's and the teams' performance.

Provide advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required.

Make sure team adheres to the CLIENT Worldwide technology standards and guidelines.

Monitor and report on the progress of development against plan.

Develop web applications, services and integration components that meet the requirements and technical designs.

Code review, process review and improvement.

Use Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) techniques to produce high quality code that is clean, readable, and avoids "code smells" and anti-patterns

Ensure development takes into account all aspects of requirements - including data quality, customer experience, architecture, security & operations - so that software is fit for purpose when it goes live

Provide support for web applications, services and integration components, including analysis, tracking and resolution. Take pro-active ownership of support tasks and see them through to completion

Contribute to the design of software solutions, bringing in fresh thinking and offering constructive feedback.

Report progress on development at daily stand-ups and escalate issues or slippage in a timely fashion, identifying remedial action to keep the project on track

Share & document technical and domain knowledge to improve support and eliminate single points of failure

Ensure all development goes through appropriate approval, test and deployment processes

Create and maintain strong working relationships with other members of the delivery team. Engage professionally with global business users and suppliers as required

Demonstrate a logical and structured approach to time management and task prioritisation to deliver work within project timelines and budgets. Be able to organise own time, schedule tasks for completion and deliver work to that schedule

Accurately estimate the time and materials required to complete a piece of development work

Professional Experience

Good, broad experience of C# ASP.Net full stack web application and website development in a dynamic, cost-aware environment

Experience of working in an agile or lean software development environment, with pair-programming and continuous integration

Experience of the full software development life cycle including design, testing, deployment, documentation and support activities
