CCNA Network Engineer

Harris global are seeking to recruit an experienced CCNA qualified Network Engineer working for a Commodities Trader based in Central London.This position is responsible for maintaining the local and wide area networks, VPNs and other data connections and the telephone systems. The role will require candidates with a good working knowledge of Cisco Voice, data network and wireless platforms to assist the Global Network team with designing, planning and implementing Network Platforms.


- In depth knowledge of Cisco Wired and Wireless Network Infrastructure
- Configuration and management of LAN
- Configuration and management of WAN
- Configuration and maintenance of routing for all services
- Management of Fortinet global security platform - Firewalls, IDS, IPS, AV etc.
- Monitoring off devices to proactively identify
- Configuration and management of core VPLS network, P2P and other 3rd party data connections
- Delivery of standardised enhancements (such as installing Wi-Fi AP and configuring a single global SSID)
- VoIP management and performance tuning as well as support to Avaya G450 telephone gateway
- VLAN management and creation as well as managing IP addresses

- Experience of deploying network monitoring tools and fine tuning alerting and reporting.
- Demonstrable experience of working for a large enterprise, familiarity with IT frameworks such as ITIL. An understanding of the advantage for Change and Incident Management processes to the organisation.

Person Specification:

- Cisco CCNA - Required and current
- Cisco CCNP - Advantageous
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolving complex problems
- Ability to think logically and analyse technical information
- Ability to work as a member of a distributed team
- Ability to pass on knowledge to other members of the team and share knowledge accordingly to peers
