A leading Corporate Bank are looking to hire a Payments Control professional in the Financial Crime space.

This position will be part of the Financial Crime Prevention team that reports to the UK MLRO, and who have oversight for areas including AML, fraud, bribery, sanctions, PEPs and high risk clients.

Key Responsibilities;

- Updating and managing internal lists (e.g. Vigilance) to ensure that HMT sanctioned entities are included on the company's Consolidated list
- Being aware at all times of the company's policy on financial sanctions, embargos and sanctioned countries requirements (e.g. UK, EU and US OFAC)
- Evaluating customer/bank transactions through the Shine mechanism or various other mechanisms
- Ensuring the '4-eye' process is maintained consistently regardless of alert type and any 'real' sanctions alerts are escalated to the right areas
- Assisting staff in complying with regulatory requirements and supporting the Senior Controls officer and UK MLRO with enforcing appropriate second level controls over the review of payment alerts
- Ensuring PEP and sanctions alerts are escalated to the Due Diligence team
- Reviewing alerts for money laundering risk, liaising with other business areas for alerts generated from the transaction monitoring systems, such as Actimize or Fircosoft
- Reporting to the Investigations team/Nominated Officer on any suspicion of money laundering, using the bank's internal SAR escalation process

Key Skills;

- Financial sanctions and/or transaction monitoring experience required
- Must have worked in a FCA regulated bank's financial crime team
- Fully proficient in assessing Anti Money Laundering (AML) cases and comfortable with applying a holistic approach to identify and mitigate financial crime risk
- Strong understanding of the UK AML regime and good knowledge of other sanctions regimes
- Competent knowledge of general money laundering and terrorist financing risk issues
- A self-starter who can make informed decisions efficiently, whilst making certain that all issues have been appropriately considered
