The key purpose of the Financial Controller role is the production of timely and accurate monthly consolidated financial reports. To play a lead role in the preparation of interim and annual reports for the group and to assist with company secretarial responsibilities. In this Financial Controller role, you will manage the relationship with HMRC and generally support the Group Finance Director.

As the Financial Controller your duties will include:

- Health, Safety & Environmental in relation to the role, the finance department and the general working environment.
- The accounts programme to include: group consolidation, intercompany reconciliation, preparation of full consolidated accounts pack. Assist with the preparation of annual Group Budget, update Partnership forecast with monthly results and re-forecast to year end, attend weekly cash flow meetings and re-forecast consolidated year-end look ahead.
- Audit preparation.
- Updating of accounting manuals.
- Preparation of presentations for board meetings.
- Assisting with the preparation of the annual group budget.
- Ensuring that all procedures are being adhered to in order to protect the business from financial irregularities.

This is not an exhaustive brief and therefore may be involved in ad-hoc duties as is seen fit but hopefully, this will give you a good flavour of what they are after. Any additional activities will be in keeping with the post and are likely to be focused on maintaining the business' excellent reputation both internally and externally.

To be a successful Financial Controller in this post you will have the following skills and experience:

- You will be a fully qualified Accountant who has gone through training with one of the big 4.
- You will have held responsible positions within the construction industry. This experience is essential.
- Previously worked at a similar level.
