On behalf of our client , an International Bank based in the City, we are looking to recruit for an experienced Chief Risk officer.The main purpose of the role is to ensure that the Bank's credit, market and operational risk exposures are managed within the limits set by its regulators and also to foster a culture of risk awareness.

The successful candidate will have sound knowledge of Corporate or Retail- Wholesale banking with special reference to credit, market and operational risk and of FCA Regulatory Requirements for the banking environment within the UK.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- To oversee the preparation for and to sit on Credit Committee .

-To oversee the preparation and review of the Credit and Large Exposure Policy Statement and the Provisioning Policy Statement,

-To oversee the preparation and review of the Asset-Liability Management Policy Statement, in line with regulatory guidelines.

-To oversee the preparation and review of the Operational Risk Policy, the Credit Policy and Procedures Manual and the Asset-Liability Management Policy and Procedures Manual.

-To review and add support or otherwise to all credit assessments on all proposed credit risks, ensuring that proposals match Bank's risk appetite, policies and limits.

-To report on a monthly basis key risk indicators and other operational risk information and data to the Executive Management Committee.

-To be responsible for the monitoring and control on an ongoing basis of all credit exposures, operational risk exposures and asset-liability management issues, ensuring no breaches of regulatory guidelines.

-To oversee the accurate maintenance of credit risk management on main banking system.

-To be responsible for maintaining credit policy/portfolio performance.

- Approving credit proposals within delegated authorities.

-Liaising internally and externally with lawyers, banks, the FCA, internal audit, compliance, external audit, various departments of the Bank.

-To undertake special credit, operational risk and review projects as required.

-To be responsible for the implementation of the Basel III project for Project Manager and report on progress to the Executive Management Committee and the Board.
