A globally recognised brand in the telecommunications sector is seeking an EMEA Customs and Trade Compliance Officer based in Berkshire to join its expanding team. This position has been created due to improvements in efficiency and new regulations. You will receive access to an in-house restaurant, free parking and social nights out. This role can be home based.

You will be joining a team that was set up 3 years ago and that now has 10 team members and is expanding again with 2 additional heads required. Launched in 1993, this global organisation has European headquarters and great career progression opportunities for you!

As the EMEA Customs and Trade Compliance Officer your duties will be to:

- Be responsible for the in-depth understanding of import and export law for relevant EMEA markets.
- Business to business meetings.
- Work with the customs and trade global team to pursue development of export compliance program including audits, recordkeeping practices, training materials, and other areas as needed.
- Conduct export and import compliance audits within organisation entities in the region and implement appropriate corrective actions in response to findings of the audits.
- Provide advice and recommendations to operations about import and export processes and ensure overall compliance with global trade standards and local customs rules.
- Develop, implement and evolve systems and processes with supporting SOP to secure the company's cross-border activities.
- Work closely with regional and country supply chain teams in creating best in class processes to ensure compliance with in-country and international trade regulations.

To be a successful EMEA Customs and Trade Compliance Officer you will have the following skills and experience:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in International trade, business, logistics or transportation.
- Experience in import / export operations, compliance risk analysis, customs compliance or supply chain.
- Previously worked in any industry as long as you have dealt with the export of dual-use equipment and thus applied for Export licence (SIEL).
- Up-to-date knowledge of relevant regional international import and export controls regulations especially relative to the trade of dual-use items - European Customs Regulations and Export control regulation.
- Relevant knowledge of broad business practices specifically associated with appropriate internal controls gained during the experience in International distribution, manufacturing, freight forwarding / 3PL or in a similar capacity for a large consulting firm.
- Basic knowledge of Harmonized System and product classification experience.
- Fluent in English; fluency in French is a plus.
- May involve some domestic and international travel.

In return, the EMEA Customs and Trade Compliance Officer will receive a salary of £80,000 - £90,000 per annum plus a 20% bonus.
