Bright technology graduate to support the Managing partner OR 1-2 years commercial experience

Salary - up to £27K per annum

The firm

My client is an exciting, niche litigation practice based in central London. With partners joining from across some of the best commercial litigation firms and chambers in the city, the firm focuses on the highest quality, most complex commercial and international arbitration cases for major corporate and financial institutions.

The role

This person will be dedicated to providing support to the Managing Partner.

The right individual will look after various devices making sure they are regularly updated and fit for purpose. You will also use your technology background to suggest and implement new solutions to improve security and productivity of the Managing Partner.

This is a great opportunity to gain a high level of responsibility and experience within hardware as well as software. The IT Team will be available to work collaboratively on proposed technical solutions under a greater umbrella.

In addition to on-site support there is a need to provide assistance off-site. Furthermore, you will coordinate with other teams to bring about resolutions within SLAs. This is a 24×7 service and the role requires the individual to be very flexible and cover on call support out of hours. Normal working hours Monday to Friday vary between 9am - 6pm. Occasional travel.

Main tasks include:

- Ensure all services and hardware are highly secure at all times.

- Investigate and resolve complex incidents / problems, working with the partner, other IT staff and vendors where necessary, ensuring that the earliest possible resolution and ensuring the highest level of service is maintained at all times.

- Analyse incident trends to be able to provide proactive support to improve performance and service.

- Liaise with third party software/hardware suppliers or maintenance suppliers where necessary.

- Maintain up-to- date awareness of developments in the IT industry and identify how appropriate ones can be applied to improve productivity and security.

- Pro-actively liaise with the executive team to ensure that their IT devices and systems are functioning correctly and general housekeeping requirements are met.

- Write scripts to automate routine tasks, working collaboratively with IT Manager and data analyst.

- Any other relevant duties as requested by line management.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Applicants must have the following:

- Passion for technology.

- Extensive understanding of network devices, servers, desktops, tablets across Windows, OS X, Linux, iOS & Android.

- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.

- Proactive individual who can identify areas where service improvements can be made and suggest ways in which systems can be improved. Demonstrate ownership at all times for the relationship and the end-to-end fix.

- Ability to translate technical problems to a business user.

- Willingness to work flexibly and at other locations within reasonable travelling distance as and when required.

- Willing to undergo security checks if successful.

- Eligibility to work in the UK.

Candidates with experience in these areas will be preferred:

- Citrix XenApp 6.0 - 7.5; Terminal Services environments and desktop virtualisation

- Blackberry Enterprise Server/Service 5 / 12

- Document Management Systems


- Information Technology certifications from leading organisations like Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, Cisco, and CompTIA

- A good degree, preferably a Bachelor of Science Degree


Depending on experience and the candidate's history, the salary on offer is negotiable.


The role will be based at the firm's brand new offices in Central London, Holborn
