As the Prudential Compliance Oversight Manager you will report into and support to the Head of Prudential Compliance and Governance, the role-holder will make a significant contribution to the effectiveness of the Compliance function by leading and ensuring that compliance aspects of all prudential and Solvency II requirements are understood and implemented.
To have responsibility for ensuring that the Group's prudential controls are fit for purpose, including, but not limited to the Group internal model, capital management and impacts on the Group's Solvency position.
The role holder will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of a prudential oversight plan which will provide assurance that the Group is meeting prudential (Solvency II) requirements.
Working within the regulatory risk appetite defined by the relevant Boards, the role-holder will work pro-actively within the group to promote best practice with the aim of reducing regulatory risks.
- To support the development and delivery of a prudential oversight plan to provide assurance the Solvency II requirements are being met.
- Support the continued embedding of the Group's internal model and ongoing capital management, including the monitoring of compliance with the PRA's Handbook, Solvency II Directive and supporting Standards and Guidance.
- Provide consultancy support and technical expertise on prudential regulation issues and corporate developments to assist the business in achieving its objectives and to ensure compliance with current and known future legislation and best practice.
- Assist the Head of Prudential Compliance and Governance to develop and facilitate relationships with each Business area, in order to embed the overall understanding of compliance and governance policies.

In order to succeed in the role you will have expertise specific to Prudential Compliance and Solvency II. This experience is likely to have been gained from within the retail insurance sector and you will be expected to apply this to the Life and Lifetime Mortgages markets. The role is management position and with that comes a great deal of responsibility and interaction with senior management, you will of course be comfortable and competent in all aspects of communications, influence and reporting at this level as well as establishing strong working relationships across a business at a number of different levels. Professional qualifications relevant to this sector are highly desirable. You will be solutions focussed, strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills and able to work under your own initiative on multiple requirements.
