Our client is a centrally-based business who provide expert ecological consultancy services to a range of clients on their planning applications and various projects. This organisation are looking to appoint a Senior Ecologist to be based in Worcester.

About You

To be considered for the position of Senior Ecologist, you will have:

  • A relevant degree qualification and ideally a postgraduate qualification, such as an MSc or PhD
  • At least 5 years' experience in the ecological consultancy sector
  • Experience managing a team on a range of ecological surveys and projects
  • At least one protected species licence, such as a bat or GCN licence
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be a member, or eligible for membership, of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)

About the Role

Working as a Senior Ecologist, your main duties will include:

  • Planning and leading a range of ecological surveys, such as Phase 1 Habitat Surveys and Protected Species Surveys
  • Providing support and mentoring more junior members of the ecology team
  • Producing ecological reports and documentation to the highest possible standards
  • Liaising with sub-consultants and clients, ensuring that all aspects of their project demands are met
