Our client is a successful educational institution that offers a diverse range of courses to their students. They are now seeking a Marine Workshop Technician to join their team, working term time only.

As a Marine Workshop Technician, you will be responsible for undertaking a variety of technical duties to support our client’s marine facility. 

Helping the lecturing staff to successfully deliver their courses, you will advise students of techniques and demonstrate the safe use of tools and equipment. You’ll efficiently store equipment and materials for lessons and ensure that the workshop is kept safe and functional. 

Updating the inventory, you’ll receive deliveries of tools and equipment and administer the materials ordering process. Additionally, you’ll undertake a schedule of planned maintenance for all marine equipment, including PAT testing and servicing. 

Your other duties will include: 

- Issuing tools and equipment to students and staff 
- Constructing, maintaining and servicing all marine equipment 
- Helping lecturing staff to prepare teaching resources 

To be considered for this role, you must have: 

- A qualification in a marine related area or equivalent industry experience
- A good understanding of current developments in the marine technology and composites curriculum area 
- Strong administration skills 

Flexible and organised, as a Marine Workshop Technician, you must have strong communication skills, a team player mentality and the ability to work to tight deadlines. 

Ideally, you’ll have an assessor qualification, or you will be working towards this. A MiDAS licence would also be advantageous. 

This is a full time role, working 37 hours per week during term time only.
