Our client is one of the more interesting houses in town, originally a Retail Bank in its home market, and now one that has positioned itself as a challenger, providing flexible, accessible financial services and products to UK customers both directly and through partnerships with certain trusted and respected UK brands and intermediaries. The product range covers Corporate and Retail Banking, FX and Trade Finance.

Their successful approach to partnership is helping to challenge the big UK retail banks, by offering consumers a genuine and accessible alternative that they can trust.

The AML team is responsible formaintaining a robust Anti-Money Laundering function across the UK.

Within the team, there is a need for an individual to take ownership for developing AML, CTF & Sanctions risk frameworks, management tools and methodologies.

At the moment the frameworks are in place, but the Head of Operational Risk and Compliance does not feel that they are fully refined, nor embedded properly. The key stakeholders not only need more effective frameworks, but also require somebody to providing expert services and advice to the business in accordance with internal and regulatory requirements.

Based in the City near Bank, the team is lead by a highly respected professional who has set a very high bar for the AML function. This is not a role for somebody who wants to put their feet up, but an opportunity to genuinely make a difference.

It is a small team and the role will interface with very senior stakeholders, so strong communication and presentation skills are essential.

Given the size of the team, whilst the prime focus of the role is on Policy & Framework enhancement and implementation, the successful candidate will be expected to be able to get involved in all aspects of the AML and CTF piece.

To succeed in this role you will need to know your stuff, ideally with a Diploma in AML or experience in a Policy or Framework team, have great interpersonal and communication skills and be willing to work outside of your comfort zone.

If you feel the breadth of this role combined with the opportunity to really make a difference would suit you, then please get in touch.
