We are currently recruiting for a Sales Controller for a well-estabilished company based in North Birmingham.


- To participate in all aspects of the Service Centre sales office administration, sales order processing, order bank management, goods in and customer returns.

- To demonstrate a proactive telephone response, product and price list knowledge along with a helpful welcoming approach, endeavouring to increase customer order values and promoting customer loyalty.

- To carry out at all times your responsibilities in a professional, positive and team focused way that promotes the Company and its products ensuring all transactions are concluded promptly and professionally in accordance with the customer's instructions. Providing at all times, whilst retaining commercial viability for the group, the highest levels of customer service achievable.

- To participate in with your Team Leader or any Manager, structured staff induction, training and development programs that may be required by the Company, ensuring that you are fully trained in all aspects of your respective role.


- To work towards achieving and exceeding the Service Centre's annual and monthly sales and margin targets. By participating in the receipt and translation of customer orders into the product numbering and order entry systems ensuring the systematic progression of all orders, from receipt through to final delivery, comply with the customer's instructions and procedures.

- To liaise with customers, suppliers, other Service Centre's and group companies whenever required for the progression of orders for the benefit of our customers and the Company.

- To maintain high standards of personal and Service Centre administration, providing traceability of all orders, transactions, purchases, goods transfers, specials, MRNs, CQs and any other Company procedures or work undertaken by the Service Centre sales administration team.

- To ensure your work output is of the highest standard and in line with the Service Centre needs and instruction from your Team Leader or Service Centre Manager. Holidays are booked following your employment contract, staff handbook and entitlement. Maintaining good time keeping and with minimal unauthorised absenteeism.

- To become fully conversant with the Company's Health and Safety procedures and contribute in its application and administration within the Service Centre as a whole but with specific understanding of the office environment. Playing an active part in ensuring a safe working environment is maintained by reporting hazards and defects immediately.

- To fully understand the Company's sales objectives and business aims and using this understanding, promote and encourage customers to increase their business with the group. This includes an understanding of the company as a whole, its history, standards and objectives.

- Build positive working relationships with customers, colleagues in other Service Centres, departments and group companies to the benefit of the Company and its customers.

- To achieve personally, a recognised capability that promotes the group's business and profitability, expansion and development.

- To continuously increase your personal knowledge of our products, processes, sales and people skills and encouraging these attributes in others.
