Why are they advertising?

I'm working with a principal privately owned contractor who are keen to speak to experienced Project Planners (right now) to join the Planning Team in the established Warrington Office. They are recruiting due to planned volume of work and future expansion. They are looking for planners at various seniority stages in career. After securing a healthy workbook in the Northwest this year and next, another person is needed; to help with the whole project cycle from pre- construction to handover on current and future tenders.

The Company
The company is a well-established privately -owned contractor which is well known in the NW and has a 40 year old heritage. They have been involved with Project Value has range up to £200 million, although most projects in the NW are up to £25 million. They are mainly involved in D&B and refurbishment projects; ranging from Regeneration Urban infill, Brown and Greenfield land into developments of large Retail (mixed use) or Warehouse and Industrial parks.

The Role
You will be successful in planning the full cycle of the construction projects and bringing together and collaborating with your peers throughout the process.
As part of the tender process, you will produce prelim workbooks and tender method statements/diagrams to present to Construction Director at tender adjudication process. You will produce tender workbooks, send out package enquiries, and have a natural flair to really demonstrate and successfully communicate your full understanding of the project. You will also be instrumental to securing the work with the client with the ability to provide alternative phasing proposal and provide flexible thought out solutions.

As part of the contract stage, you will carry out tender handover to the production team; demonstrating your methodology, logistics as well as time scales to the site team. At the start of the project produce a master programme and continue to monitor it throughout the build stage by means of progress reports, rescheduled programmes and key performance charts and labour levels. Provide key advice on buildability issues and the programme implications, advise on programme status, potential safety issues and procurement issues in both construction and design meetings.

About you

- Proven experience of programming software: Including Microsoft project, ASTA and Sketch Up.
- Clear logical thinker with the patience to achieve accurate results.
- Sound knowledge and background in the construction industry
- Strong commitment to get all tasks completed and enjoys a challenge.
- Works well under pressure and accepts the challenge of any demanding situation at all times.
- Ability to communication well at all levels as a crucial team player in a successful company.
