Sopra Steria are recruiting for Project Manager to join an established institution working on major Information Systems projects. As a system based project manager, you will have be responsible for

Supplier management of external suppliers contributing to projects ensuring successful collaboration of internal and external resources to work to an agreed cost, quality and time schedule.

You will also work with stakeholders to ensure good communication including shared understanding, allocation of required resources and management of performance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the organisation/operation of Information Systems projects.
- Undertake project management, and contribute to a range of projects employing formal techniques to carry out work. Develop and manage shared plans using all required resources and ensuring communication and collaboration for the successful delivery of projects.
- Report to, and participate in, relevant Committees to contribute to the overall management of information system projects and to the development of strategy, policy and practice.
- Plan and organise individual or project team activity ensuring plans complement and feed into the plans of the relevant work area/project, and that there is cohesion with plans in other parts of IT Services.
- Ensure user requirements and solutions are documented according to standards.
- Devise plans that will deliver agreed function according to agreed timescales and budgets.
- Identify risks and issues associated with projects and manage them accordingly.
- Manage and communicate change.
- Monitor and report the progress of projects (function, quality, risks, resources, costs and timescales) and ensure that issues are escalated promptly.
- Ensure appropriate testing.
- Ensure system changes are implemented with minimal disruption to business processes.
- Develop business cases for corporate system developments, ensuring financial and service benefits are clear and agreed.
- Monitor and take responsibility for managing allocated assets, resources and budgets for approved projects. Also contribute to resource and budget planning for corporate systems and contribute to business and income development.
- Manage the purchasing of systems software and consultancy within approved projects, ensuring that University financial procedures are adhered to and liaising and negotiating with internal and external suppliers.
- Participate in agreed training activities, to enhance role performance such as updating on health and safety issues or key skills.
- Support IT Service's compliance with the administrative procedures of the University's QA systems.


Prince2 Certified

Degree Educated

Experience of working in Education sector.
