Are you an experienced analyst with good knowledge of the wholesale/retail electricity market?

Do you have understanding of the electricity trading arrangements, systems and processes, with strong organisational and presentation skills, looking to perform within a high calibre team for a company that plays a central role in the energy markets?

The successful candidate will work closely with our other Market Advisors responsible for providing specialist analysis, advice and support to colleagues across the business as well as a wide breadth of customers on the current and future operation of the electricity trading market.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Provide specialist advice and support both internally and to a wide breadth of business stakeholders on the rules and regulations governing the UK electricity markets
- Analyse and develop/assess options for addressing issues arising in the operation of the balancing and settlement arrangements and present options to our stakeholders
- Undertake specific pieces of electricity market design and analysis work
- Provide specialist support on the analysis of any industry codes changes, relaying this information to a portfolio of stakeholders
- Provide support, advice, guidance and training on the GB Electricity Trading Arrangements to customers, industry groups and other staff members
- Participate in department or cross-company projects / initiatives
- Assist in developing and implementing appropriate knowledge management systems
- Develop specialist knowledge of the procedures, processes and regulations of the UK electricity trading arrangements

Ideal qualifications, skillsets and experience:

- A technical/numerical degree, ideally energy related, and excellent analytical skills.
- Practical knowledge of the UK electricity markets (retail, regulatory, consultancy, etc), aware of industry changes and the potential impact to business stakeholders.
- Good understanding of the UK Electricity Market Entry processes and knowledge/experience of Central Volume Allocation of Electricity and Supplier VolumeAllocation of Electricity.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and non-verbally.
- Confident in giving presentations within a formal environment.
- A strong customer focus and experience in building lasting professional relationships.
