An opportunity has become available working for one of the largest school publishers in the UK, and they are looking for 2 Primary Sales consultants to join their highly successful team. Based in the London area, the Primary Sales Consultant will be responsible for driving sales and meeting targets within an allocated territory.

The role of the Primary Sales Consultant is to promote the company's extensive range of books, teaching resources and software into Primary schools, and other suitable establishments, this being achieved by client visits, emailing, telemarketing and reginal and national exhibitions when necessary.

As a Primary Sales consultant you will be allocated suite of products for which you have to sell into Primary Schools within a specific geographical area.

Job Duties

- Develop sales in the relevant institutions in their given area to achieve year on year growth

- Build relationships with school and decision makers to ensure new and renewed business. Key contacts are Head Teachers, Subject Leaders, and the SLT in primary schools.

- Identify and develop key accounts within the area to ensure we build strong relationships with centres. The Primary Consultant will be tasked with targeting Cluster Groups and Academy Chains as well as Lead Schools and Teaching Schools to pursue adoptions of our primary resources.

- Represent the company at local and national exhibitions to promote and sell our services and develop our reputation as a service provider

- Attend sales training days and put into practice techniques to improve sales

- Carry out group demonstrations or presentations to customers or internal stakeholders, including presenting to colleagues at training sessions where required.

About you

- Experience in the education market or within a similar sales role
- Sound IT skills, including MS Office package
- Negotiating
- Understanding of the education market
- Strong organisational and planning
- Report writing & Presentation skills
- Commercially aware
- Independent decision maker
- Highly organised & Able to work as part of a team
- A self-starter who can motivate themselves to work from home
- Good communicator at all levels
- Good presenter
- Drive to succeed
