£26,302 - £35,225 DOE, equivalent to AfC Band 6, plus benefits, together with an excellent training programme and a commitment to ongoing personal development.


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist (Specialist Practitioner Grade) to work in our client's 54-bedded hospital for people with learning disabilities and/or autism with comorbid psychiatric and/or personality disorders based near Aylsham, Norfolk.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be a dynamic, creative, forward thinking, compassionate and hard-working occupational therapist with solid sensory integration experience.

You will provide Occupational Therapy assessment, advice and interventions to patients admitted into the hospital and prepare them for discharge into the community, in due course.

You will be working within a committed multi-disciplinary team where occupationally focused interventions are considered an important aspect of the care pathway.

Your continuing professional development will be actively supported via clinical supervision, Personal Development Reviews and additional developmental opportunities.

This post will be supported by an 0.5 FTE therapy assistant

Candidate Requirements:

You will be an experienced Occupational Therapist with good clinical knowledge and skills within the learning disability and mental health sector, and will have post qualification training and experience in sensory integration.

You will be competent in carrying out occupationally focused assessments and interventions in a busy environment.

It is fundamental that you hold a genuine interest in working with this population and place the person-centred care philosophy at the heart of your practice.

Employment Details

Our client is a private independent hospital based in Cawston in North Norfolk, near to the villages of Aylsham and Reepham.

The hours of work will be 37.5 hrs per week (Full Time)
